My combined love for running and hiking brought me a new obsession: trail running. I've always envied trail runners--while I'm huffing and puffing up a steep hill during a hike and I hear "ON YOUR LEFT" as someone trots on by me. One day, I've gotta do that, I always think. I decided to take the plunge on a beginner trail run in the Newport Upper Back Bay.
hikeSOCAL: Ryan Mountain, Joshua Tree
Whether you need a break from LA buildings and bumpers or OC surfers and housewives, it's always good to get some peace and quiet away from the busy city. Just about 2 hours and 120 miles east of LA and OC is a Southern California gem: Joshua Tree National Park.
obsession: tabata
The only thing I love more than a ring-your-bra-out sweat sesh is a short ring-your-bra-out sweat sesh. And that's why I love Tabata--a short, intense workout that burns a whole-lotta fat.
You may have noticed Tabata workouts frequently on My Daily Workout Log. So what is it?

"Ahh, shit...I'm hungover," was my very first thought this morning. I was supposed to be so good this weekend--eat healthy and get lots of exercise. But, my abnormally bad hangovers usually leave me useless for the entire day. Today, however, I decided to do everything in my power to snap out of it and stick to my weekend goal.
Here's how I cured my hangover the healthy way...
First thing...FOOD!
Hella Bitchen Salmon
i like sweet. i like tangy. i like spicy. i like salmon. i like healthy. i like easy.
that's why i like making AND eating this sweet tangy salmon. i also like when my drunk dad turns to me after cleaning his plate and says, "that salmon was hella bitchen."
